แบบสอบถามได้ถูกจัดทำในช่วงเดือน มกราคม - กุมภาพันธ์ 2559 จากนักเรียนจำนวน 2,919 คน ซึ่งเข้าร่วมผ่านทางเฟสบุค โดยมีช่วงอายุ 12 - 17 ปี จากทุกๆจังหวัดในประเทศไทย ภายใต้เนื้อหาเกี่ยวกับโรงเรียนและคุณครูในโรงเรียน โดยนักเรียน 80% ที่ทำแบบสอบถามมาจากโรงเรียนรัฐบาล และ 20% มาจากโรงเรียนเอกชน 70% เป็นนักเรียนหญิง และ 30% เป็นนักเรียนชาย แบบสอบถาม google docs: data set 1, set 2, set 3
Between Jan-Feb 2016, we asked 2,919 students on Facebook, aged between 12-17 and from all Thai provinces, to review their teachers and schools. 80% of the respondents went to public schools, 20% in private schools. 70% are girls, 30% are boys. 52% say their teachers give extra grades for special favours. Popular answers were: “be teachers favourite”, “do teacher’s personal work” (one students said he had to paint his house), “join private tutoring class”, “money”, “be pretty”, “offer sex”.

55% say their teacher has hit them last year. The most popular spots to hit students are their hands (43%), followed by the bottom (41%), and other spots (16%).

With the support of MinuteVideos we made a video stating some facts on Thai Education in which we asked for your ideas on how to improve it. The response was overwhelming as we collected over 2,500 comments on Facebook and YouTube within just a few days.

Most of the 15,000 opinions we analysed from the comments our first video suggested that in order to improve Thai Education we have to fight inequality among school, improve teacher quality, hope for better politics or work out a better curriculum.

Out of the 2,500 comments we receive on our video State of Thai Education 2014 the most liked contributions made it into our second video. The most popular comment, which received well over 3,000 likes, argued that inequality among schools budgets is part of the problem.

The Public Health Ministry announced that the average intelligence quotient (IQ) of Thai students dropped from 94 to 93. While Prathom 1 students at urban schools had an average IQ of 100.72, slightly above the global benchmark, those at rural schools only scored 89.

In the 2012 PISA, Thai students rank 50, 48 and 47 in the areas of Math, Science and Reading respectively. Out of the total 65 Nations assessed, Thailand ranks well below the mean and among the lowest of all Asian countries. There was also a big variance between students from Bangkok and those of rural areas.

In the 2014 report from the World Economic Forum, Thailand scored below Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia in Highschool Education, raking 78 out of 144. In primary education Thailand landed on place 90.

The Times list the best universities and judges them across all of their core missions - teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook. King Mongkut's University of Technology in Thonburi is the only one that made the list of 500, dropping from a year earlier to the bucket of institutions between 351-400.
